HPV THROAT CANCER SYMPTOMS & DIAGNOSIS
HPV oropharyngeal cancer tumors grow quickly. Early diagnosis depends on early detection.
Be aware of these symptoms:
- Lump in the throat
- Hoarseness
- Difficulty swallowing
- Persistent sore throat
Many general practitioner or family doctors may be unaware of that your symptoms could be HPV throat cancer. If your symptoms persist, see a Head and Neck specialist.
HPV throat cancer tumors often reside at the base of the tongue, an area that is not visible by a non-specialist’s initial exam. A Head and Neck specialist is able to “scope” the throat and if a tumor is detected, take tissue for a biopsy.
